Get Paid for Your Power
Do you have children? Grandchildren? Other little loved ones? If you do, you have all the reason you need to invest in clean energy. It has the potential to shift the health of our planet, and can help preserve a functional world for our children and grandchildren to live in. We asked owner, Fred Hawkins, questions regarding clean energy and how you can help - this is what he said!
What are some home upgrades to contribute to clean energy?
"Everyone is worried about carbon output and wanting to keep the world cleaner. As we help you shift to clean energy, a technician will come to you with an aerial photo of your house on an iPad. This will tell him where the hotspots are on your roof which shows us where to put the solar panels. We then go to your garage and design a panel just for what you want to operate off of the solar panel. We put batteries in your garage and the solar panels on your roof so if your power goes off, your power will flip back on immediately – no down time! You will also have an inverter with the installation of your solar panels.
All of this is made by Generac which is the number one generator company in the world. Even if you don't install solar panels, the battery will charge when your power is cheapest, for example, between 4:00am and 8:00am, which will put power back into your system. If you utilize solar panels, this will not only keep your batteries charged, but you can even sell power back to your power company. When our technicians go to your house, they will tell you what your savings would be per month. In 8 to 10 years, this system would more than likely be able to pay for itself. It also has a 15-year warranty, so it's overall a great system to invest in."
How will a generator be useful when installing solar panels?
"If you install solar panels, you should also get a generator. When it snows, there's not much sun which will not allow the panels to charge up. If you have a generator, it will charge back up. With this technology, you could just about be off the grid and self-sufficient. An added bonus is the ability to sell power back to the company!"
What's the most interesting technological advancement in clean energy?
"I would say Lithium-ion batteries – they're so much better now. They use the same technology as the drill that you buy from Home Depot. These batteries are used to store the energy from your power system and input power back into your grid."
Why should people look at going off the grid?
"Our power grid is getting old. If you have a situation where our power was to go down, you could still live day to day and not make any changes. If you live in a home with AC, a refrigerator, and a well pump and the power goes out for a couple of weeks, you're going to be without water, AC , and/or heat. With the new energy product that Generac sells plus the Generac generator, there won't be any changes in case of a power outage. You're in control of your own power and you're not having to rely on the power company."
What do you think the future of clean energy looks like?
"I think it's only going to get better. I think we have companies like Generac and Tesla that are constantly coming up with better ideas. They're going to make batteries and charging systems better. I read a story about the Lusitania ship and during that time (the early 1900s), there were more electric cars than gas because electric cars were so much easier to operate. At the time, gas cars were harder to start so doctors, lawyers, business owners, and women often had electric cars. If the petroleum companies hadn't resisted that technology, I think we would be way ahead on clean energy today."
Why are you passionate about clean energy and potential advancements?
"Well, I have a granddaughter and I want her to have the best situation to live in now and in the future. There are a lot of people and we do hurt the environment, so anything we can do to help the situation makes us better people. I want my granddaughter to have everything we have.
I don't think we're going to be able to do away with cars. You're not going to do away with airplanes. You're not going to be able to do away with having cows. However, we can do little things that will make a difference like using all LED light bulbs in our homes and businesses, as well as investing in energy-efficient appliances like dishwashers, furnaces, and air conditioners. This will cut down the demand. If you invest in clean energy with solar panels, lithium ion batteries, and inverters, you are contributing. That has to help the future. If everyone does a little bit, a little bit adds up."If you would like more information about our products click here or contact us!
